Windows 8 Mail app and error logging
I'm seeing some users with questions regarding the Windows 8 Mail app, some people experience issues and cannot succesfully connect to a mail server. People confirm thay can connect to their server with other ActiveSync clients but not with the built-in Windows 8 Mail app.
My question is, where can I find error logging from the Mail app? When the app gives a generic error message, where can I find more detailed information about the actual issue it experiences?
Windos 8에서 메일 앱에서 메일 설정시 에러가 발생하였습니다 이벤트 뷰어말고 상세한 에러를 확인할수있도록 보관하는 로그가 있나요???

For your question, I did some research and found that:
The Communications apps (Mail, Calendar, People) will use the same error codes and error text strings referenced in the Windows Phone7 EAS Error List. Here are some common errors
Error Message |
Description |
Please connect a Microsoft ID to use Mail |
When a Connected ID is not present, the app will display this dialog. Resolution: Connect your ID in the User section of Windows Settings. |
Error 116 (Invalid Recipient) |
If this error occurs, Mail will present error message "One of the recipients could not be resolved to an e-mail address." The message will be saved to the Drafts folder. This error will display in the app versus in the Status bar. |
Sync errors |
Errors that require retry. If sync fails during Polling or triggered sync, Mail will retry the synchronization. If sync fails during manual sync, the user will be prompted to retry. The errors that will trigger the above logic are: Protocol error Server misconfiguration, temporary system issue, or bad item. This is frequently a transient condition. Invalid sync key between client and server |
HTTP error 503 – Service unavailable |
EAS servers that are unable to service a particular request may return HTTP error 503 (Service Unavailable) and an optional Retry-After header that specifies the date/time at which to retry or a number of seconds to wait. |
In addition, for Advanced issue it may be necessary to collect the ETL files located in the LocalState folder. This is accessed by navigating to: C:\Users\****\AppData\Local\Packages\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState.
I hope the information can help you on the Mail app.
